Shock Mitigation & SKYDEX for World Championship Personal Water Craft

Russell Marmon has successfully raced in some of the world’s most competitive PWC races on his high performance Sea-Doo Personal Water Craft.

Russell has been chasing world endurance Jet Ski titles for a number of years. He has been riding PWC since 1991 and entered his first race, the African Jetraid, in 1999, where he successfully finished in 2nd place. He has since won many competitions including podium positions in the European and World Championships.

Russel said, ‘My aim for 2008 is to keep race fit in preparation for my most important competition of the year, the World Championship. I know my Sea-Doo will give me the performance but what I now need is to reduce the forces on the body. I have been working with John Haynes of Shock Mitigation to improve the bio-mechanics of my driving position plus we are adding a SKYDEX Impact Mitigating Boat Decking system onto the racing PWC.’

In the Runabout F1 category at the World Offshore Jet Championships in June 2006 Russel achieved the fastest lap time and top speed in the final race of the Championships. Russel added. ‘I race the Sea-Doo RXT, which produces over 300 horsepower. I also have a Sea-Doo GTX 4-TEC race unit to train and practice on and a 130hp Sea-Doo 3D DI for fun.’

At the UIM World Offshore Jet Championship over 300 riders from more than 20 nations come together in pursuit of this coveted title. Competitors endure three long laps totalling 450 kilometres of often challenging sea conditions.
