Launch of SKYDEX IMBD commercial boat decking at SEAWORK Southampton UK

The new SKYDEX IMBD - Impact Mitigating Boat Decking – for commercial and military RIBs and High Speed Craft has its European launch at SEAWORK, Southampton, England.

A major objective has been to develop a range of deck cushioning for RIBs and High Speed Craft. The combined marine expertise of Shock Mitigation UK and the technical knowledge of SKYDEX Technologies USA has created IMBD, Impact Mitigating Boat Decking

The patented SKYDEX system works by twin opposing hemispheres bearing upon each other to create a spring. SKYDEX reduces vibration by tuning the type and thickness of the material depending on the application. The SKYDEX material also has sound reducing properties. IMBD is very stable and the Cross Hatch top surface has excellent grip even when wet.

IMBD is simple to install and can be fitted on new-build or retro-fit projects. Sea Shocks is a new anti-fatigue mat that can be used on any craft to reduce vibration.

The EU Vibration Directive is becoming a relevant issue for High Speed Craft Operators. Shock Mitigation provides the solutions that professional boat operators need to reduce injury, improve comfort and reduce the risk of damaging litigation. Along with Trevor Dobbins of Human Science Engineering and Johan Ullman of Ullman suspension seats, John Haynes of Shock Mitigation Solutions is presenting an overview of the developments in deck cushioning as a shock mitigation solution.

Stand Personnel at Seawork include Operations Director John Haynes, Technical Manager Andrew Rushworth plus Sales co-ordinators Paul Barrow and Toby White
